![]() File: Liverpool's Raheem Sterling Jamaica-born Liverpool star Raheem Sterling has decided to give up on social mediums Twitter and Facebook, in order, the teenager says, to become more "professional". Sterling, who had amassed a huge following in both online mediums, recently deleted all his accounts with the intent, he says, to fully focus on his Liverpool and England career. "I've deleted my Twitter and Facebook, and come off BBM (BlackBerry Messenger)," Sterling told the club's official website. "I just need to get my head down, really, and concentrate on my football, start scoring goals, stuff like that." "I'm going to be more and more professional. I won't be back on there. Me and Twitter are finished." mini tug of war The 18-year-old, born in Maverley, Kingston, showed plenty of promise for the Anfield team earlier on this season, where he secured a starting spot as a wide player. Sterling was also the subject of a mini tug of war of sorts between the Jamaica Football Federation and English having been eligible to play for both countries. The player, however, later made it clear that he intended to represent England having made his debut in a match against Sweden late last year. However, having signed an extended contract with the Anfield Club in December of last year, things have not progressed as well since, with the player recently seeing a sharp decrease in playing time. Sterling has also found himself on the wrong side of the law in recent times, after being charged with the assault of a 24-year-old woman earlier this month. The player denies the allegations. |
