Dear Pastor,

I am 30 years old and I am having a problem. Since my father died, my mother came to live with me. My mother is only 50 years old. She has a good job and my father left her with a lovely house. After his death, she did not want to stay in the house, so we all agreed that she should rent it and live with me. My mother is not a problem at all, but I am having a concern. She has bought herself a lovely car and she keeps herself in shape.

Recently, I have seen a great change in my mother. She is dressing up and going out on dates with a young man who is in my age group. She gives this guy money. I suspected that and she admitted it. I am afraid my mother is going to be used by this young man. She speaks to him for hours on her cellphone. And if she doesn't hear from him, she gets very worried. I don't want to control my mother's life, but I am worried.

Allow your mother to do whatever she wants to do. She is not an old woman and she ought to know what she is getting into. Don't try to control her. Time would tell if she is making a mistake.
