Man charged for operating illegal motel |

|
A Portmore resident was fined $25,000 or 30 days for operating an illegal motel along the Port Henderson Road hip strip, more popularly known as 'Back Road'. He is Toussant Tucker, a 30-year-old businessman from the municipality. When the matter came up in the Portmore Municipal Court on Tuesday, Tucker pleaded guilty. Resident magistrate Vaughn Smith then fined the accused. The accused pleaded for mitigation. He told the court that his building has been captured and he was not collecting any money. He was charged with breaching the Public Order Act. |
