MEXICO CITY (AP):

Mexico lost a 19-game winning streak at the Azteca stadium with a 0-0 draw against Jamaica yesterday in their first match of the final round of World Cup qualifying.

The Mexicans considered one of the favourites to qualify for Brazil 2014 from the North and Central American and the Caribbean have not drawn at Azteca since November 9, 1997, when Costa Rica drew them 3-3.

Honduras now lead the final, six-team group with three points, while Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and Jamaica share second place with one point each. The United States are last with no points after losing 2-1 to Honduras earlier on Wednesday.

The top three teams earn automatic World Cup berths, while the fourth-place team play off for another spot.
