A woman had her throat slashed while a man was shot and killed in separate incidents in Spanish Town on Tuesday.

Dead is Terena Taylor, 24-year-old of Valdez Road, Spanish Town, and Omeal Ormsby, 31-year-old of Federal Road.

Reports are that about 8:30 p.m., Ormsby was at a business place along Federal Road when he was approached by a gunman who shot him in his head. Ormsby was taken to the hospital where he later died.

His death followed that of Taylor, whose throat was slashed at her home. Residents reportedly heard her cries for help and the police were called.

When a team responded, the body was found with its neck slashed. The St Catherine Major Investigation Task Force is conducting a probe into the matter.
