Lutan Fyah (left) and newcomer Hefla Nyah Veteran singjay Lutan Fyah and newcomer Hefla Nyah with their latest single Lies & Tricks, are climbing the Jamaican reggae charts at an alarming pace and threatening to take over the top position in a matter of weeks. After only 10 weeks on the Jamaica Top-25 Reggae Chart, the single is the second fastest-rising title, bettered only by Rihana's Diamonds remix. It currently sits at number 6 and is battling Diamond's Do For Love - Ishawna & Specialist, Heart Affi Strong - King Asar and Romaine Virgo's cover of Adele's Don't You Remember in a bid to oust Asfa's Not The LIfe from the pole position. Newcomer Hefla Nyah is looking to score his second number-one after topping the same chart for three weeks back in April of 2012 with the patriotic Take You There (Jamaica). Lutan Fyah is consistently red hot and had a busy end of year with shows in Africa and Canada. The two artistes, through a link with Hefla's manager Roger Grant, are still thinking about a video for the song and possibly will record more material together. Lies & Tricks is the lead-off single on the Question rhythm compilation on 619 Entertainment /VP Records and keeps company with a quality bunch of tunes by Turbulence, Andy Livingston, Luciano, Princess Thundah, Jahmali, Mikey Tan Ya, Chrisinti, Asfa, Chukki Starr, Prophecy, Ras Bogle, Mark Wonder, Natural Black and Robert Sutherland. Hefla Nyah is also preparing a new single Hungry, which will follow his current hit which according to his management will be the last one before the release of his debut album The Truth this Summer. |
