All eyes looked towards the sky above the Suncoast Beach in St Thomas as several glowing orbs hovered together like a formation of monstrous fireflies on Sunday.
These monstrous fireflies actually turned out to be sky lanterns that were launched as thousands of patrons partied the night away at the Big Cups Super All-Inclusive Beach Party that was staged at the Suncoast Beach on the Solaris Estate in St Thomas. Patrons could be seen flocking the entrance of the venue with their big 32oz cups that resembled buckets in their hands. it was on the verge of sunset and the waves could be seen crashing against the sand. At that point, some of the patrons were also dazzled by the sight of the massive 8ft cup that laid before their eyes. By 6:30 p.m., the venue was packed as people were seen dancing to the selections from DJ Lank, among them, Alexandra Stan's Mr Saxobeat and Far East Movement's Like a G6. There were several bars throughout the venue with different types of alcoholic beverages that were available until the end of the event, including the VIP section that provided high-end liquor. People were then seen scurrying towards the far end of the venue as they enjoyed the scrumptious delicacies provided by Bachelor Chef and Elite Kreations. Among these delectables were pork quesadillas, shrimp pasta, coconut fish, cajun chicken and lobster pasta. The tempo started to escalate as time progressed and by 7:30 p.m., DJ Shane the Firestarter had the females gyrating with their male counterparts to songs such as Mavado's Squeeze ar, Vybz Kartel's All Out and Aidonia's Tan Tuddy. If the patrons thought the 8ft cup at the entrance was a sight to behold, then they were in for another surprise as close to 9 p.m., what appeared to be an 8ft robot that was fully lit up was seen strolling through the venue, even the Jamaican sprint king, Usain Bolt, was seen striking his signature pose with this robot. The night progressed and by 10, the atmosphere throughout the venue reached fever pitch as selections from Coppershot and Renaissance had brought the patrons to the edge as the high energy could be felt throughout the party. At this time nothing but gyration and gun salutes could be seen around as patrons danced the night away to songs such as Tommy Lee's Buss a Blank, Sean Paul's She Doesn't Mind and FUN's We are Young. The party ended at 11 p.m., and definitely lived up to expectations as patrons had a grand time and got their money's worth. |
