Pepsi to add more flavour to YVAs

Pepsi Brand Manager Carla Hollingsworth hangs out with dancehall duo Voicemail at the launch of the Youth View Awards at the Terra Nova hotel recently. Pepsi is a major sponsor of the awards.

Jamaica's leading soft drink company, Pepsi Cola Jamaica, is back on board the Youth View Awards for the fifth consecutive year.

According to Carla Hollingsworth, brand manager for Pepsi, the brand is focused on consumer interaction in a big way and is using music as the platform to connect.

"Our execution around this event is being heavily driven through our Facebook page where there are a number of opportunities for our consumers to be a part of this highly anticipated event," Hollingsworth said.

"There are chances to win tickets and other prizes. We will also be launching our YVA Pepsi Star, where fans can upload their best lip-syncing video of a nominee's song to the Facebook page. Votes will be collated and then three winners chosen," she added.

"Each winner will receive the YVA Pepsi Hype pack that includes VIP access to the awards show, access to the VIP area at the event and after party as well as photo opportunities with their chosen nominee. We have really tried to cover every angle so our consumers can be kept in the loop about the YVA happenings and be included as well," Hollingsworth said.

The Youth View Awards is set for Saturday, February 2 at the National Indoor Sports Centre, but according to Hollingsworth, the nominees will be fêted during a special pre-awards party to be held at Usain Bolt's Tracks & Records at the Market place on January 31.

"It will be a celebration of the nominees for the awards show. It will be a party to bring a vibe as we build up to the awards show on the weekend," Hollingsworth said.

A blue-carpet affair is planned for the nominees while a red carpet will be rolled.
