IRIE JAMBOREE PROMOTER PLANS TO SUE - Legal action pending against woman who is suing Sean Paul |

Promoters of the popular United States-based stage show, Irie Jamboree, are contemplating possible legal action against Susanne Persson for the use of 'Irie Jamboree' as the title for the book she wrote promising to expose dancehall artiste Sean Paul. In a recent article in the New York Daily, it was said that Persson "wants $80 million in damages from Sean Paul, his road manager, Steve Wilson, and his label, Atlantic Records, according to the lawsuit filed last week in Manhattan (Supreme Court)". The lawsuit followed a 126-page book in which the Swedish woman made several claims against Sean Paul, even suggesting that she was "emotionally tortured" during their relationship that started in early 2010. But in a release sent to THE STAR, promoter of Irie Jamboree and CEO of Irie Jam Radio, Bobby Clarke, said: "Since the Sean Paul story broke, our office in Queens, New York, has been bombarded with calls from radio listeners, concerned citizens and friends of Irie Jam Radio and Irie Jamboree inquiring about our involvement in the lawsuit." Clarke also noted that some legal action might be taken against Persson for the use of the name.
