The 2012 Scotiabank-sponsored Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) Golden Cleats female award winner, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, charged members of the Dr Warren Blake-led administration to mend fences as a coordinated effort is needed to move Jamaica's track and field forward.

Fraser-Pryce made the call while giving the vote of thanks at the function held at the Terra Nova All Suite Hotel in St Andrew.

The world's fastest man, Usain Bolt, captured his third award, while his coach Glen Mills was named Coach of the Year.

"I hope that you (JAAA) will continue to put track and field first, put away the animosity, put away what side is feuding, and what side is not feuding, or whatever it is," Fraser-Pryce said. "Thank you for your expertise, thank you for everything you have been doing, and I hope, this year, we will break new ground together as athletes and federation, because we need the federation and the federation needs us, so we need to work together for one common cause."

Fraser-Pryce was winning the coveted award for the second time after joining elite company in 2012, as she became only the third woman in history to repeat as 100m Olympic champion after stopping the clock at 10.75 seconds in the final. Doubling for the first time at a major championship, she added silver in the 200m in 22.09 seconds and helped the sprint relay team to the silver medal in the 4x100m in a national record time of 41.41 seconds.

Bolt was claiming his third hold on the award following past success in 2008 and 2009. The reigning IAAF Athlete of the Year in 2012 became the first man in history to successfully defend the Olympic sprint double after his 9.63 seconds clocking to win the 100m final and 19.32 seconds to capture the 200m. He also anchored the men's 4X100m relay team to gold in a world-record time of 36.84 seconds to become the first person in history to win three gold medals at two consecutive Olympic games.

"I feel great," Bolt said. "It is always good to be recognised in your country, because I am recognised all over the world."

Racers Track Club head coach, Glen Mills, for the second consecutive year, copped the Coach of the Year Award to bring his tally to three, having also won the award in 2007. Mills is responsible for conditioning Bolt and Yohan Blake, who captured gold and silver, respectively, in the 100m at the London Olympics, as well as Warren Weir, who followed Bolt and Blake home in the 200m to earn Jamaica a clean sweep of the medals.

The Howard Aris Award, which was established last year in memory of the late former JAAA president, to recognise athletes that represent the country with distinction in non-traditional events, was captured by 2012 World Junior discus champion, Fedrick Dacres of Calabar High, and 2012 World Junior 400m hurdles champion, Holmwood Technical's Jeneive Russell, who was not present at the function.

The athletes received scholarships valued at $250,000, tenable at the University of the West Indies, University of Technology or the GC Foster College.
