Rasbert Turner, Star Writer The driver of a Toyota Coaster who reportedly injured a policeman, who attempted to stop the bus during a spot check, is now facing numerous traffic violations. The policeman suffered a fractured arm and also a wound on his left hand and had to seek medical attention. The constable, who is stationed at the St Catherine North Traffic Department, normally deals with traffic control in the town centre. The incident took place along Oxford Road, Spanish Town, about 2:30 p.m. on Friday. Reports said the constable was attempting to stop the Coaster when the incident occurred. After hitting the policeman, the driver sped away and this resulted in a chase. The driver sped on the Spanish Town bypass and reinforcements had to be called. He was eventually cornered on I-95 in Portmore, St Catherine, when several police vehicles joined the chase. Just over a week ago, another policeman was shoved in the path of a moving vehicle in Greendale, Spanish Town. He suffered a fractured leg in that incident.
