Two of three men who have been accused of breaking into a woman's car and stealing her handbag before escaping in a Nissan motor vehicle were further remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court Thursday. They are Wayne Lawrence and Chester Hamilton who are charged with receiving stolen property and simple larceny. Dalton Porter, who is also charged, had his bail extended. Porter, the court heard, was given station bail because of an illness. All three men are being represented by attorney-at-law, C.J Mitchell. They return to court on January 24, as the file is incomplete. Allegations are that on the day of the incident, the three were seen taking the complainant's handbag from her vehicle that was parked on a school compound on Westminster Avenue in Kingston. It is alleged that the men later escaped in a motor car and were later accosted by the police in the Half-Way Tree area. The court heard that the men broke into the complainant's car, while they were on bail for similar offences. It is alleged that the complainant's handbag was found in the Nissan motor car that the men were travelling in. |
