The Fluffy Diva herself, Miss Kitty, will host the event, with good vibes and great giveaways, against the musical backdrop of DJ Delano from party favourites Renaissance Disco. resounding success
Tanya Lee, regional marketing manager of promoters SportsMax, expects fight night to be a resounding success based on the line-up, "Think red carpet, flashing camera lights, screens, good food and music, Wray & Nephew specials all night, and explosive boxing action, and this pretty much defines Wray and Nephew Rumble on Jamrock presented by SportsMax." The main event for SportsMax fight night is the highly anticipated bout with Jamaica's Nicholas 'the Axeman' Walters, #1 WBA-ranked and Colombia's Daulis Prescott, #5 WBA-ranked, in a battle for the world featherweight title at 10:30 p.m. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with five fights on the undercard, including two international female bouts featuring boxers from Peru, the USA, Mexico, and Venezuela. Contender favourites, Rikardo 'The Surgeon' Smith and Sakima Mullings will also settle the score inside the Rumble ring, finally giving fans the thrill of watching them trade blows in a welterweight showdown. Jamaica has not hosted a world title fight in 22 years, and with the 'rock' celebrating 50 years of Independence, SportsMax and Wray & Nephew have pulled out all the stops to ensure that Rumble on JamRock is a first-class event. Two former boxers who attempted to become world title holders on local soil will be honoured on fight night. They are Richard 'Shrimpy' Clarke and George Leslie 'Bunny' Grant. |
