Famed dancehall producer Tarik Johnston, more popularly known as Russian, has modified the spelling of his name to RVSSIAN.

He confirmed to THE WEEKEND STAR that he opted for a name change due to online search complications, but that the pronunciation of his name will remain the same.

"Due to complications when researched online, I have modified the spelling of my name. When people typed in the name 'Russian', the search results were of people in Russia so people were complaining that they couldn't find all my music," he said.

The Head Concussion Records CEO also informed THE WEEKEND STAR that he has already made changes on his YouTube channel as it relates to the spelling of his name.

"We started changing the older productions to the new spelling. Fans can now log on to our YouTube channel (Youtube/headconcussiontv), to find both the latest and older productions," Rvssian continued.

At present, Rvssian's latest productions, including My Confessions by DeMarco and Wine and Kotch by Charly Black featuring J Capri, have been enjoying excellent airplay both locally and internationally. A video for each song is also in the works and will be released in the upcoming weeks.

In addition, a video for Rvssian's latest collaborative effort with Vybz Kartel titled Tree Smokers is also forthcoming.

In the meantime, fans of the producer-turned-artiste can see him live at his 'Campari Playhouse' party at Margaritaville in Ocho Rios on December 14.
