Head over heels |

Dear Pastor, I am 18 years old. Two months ago I became friendly with a guy who I have never met. He is 19 years old and a very nice Christian. The thing is that we live in different parishes. I started developing feelings for this guy and he used to spend time talking to me. We have had a lot of arguments. If I tell him that I want to break up with him, he would just say "ok", like he isn't interested. Since lately, he has been caught up with some extra-curricular activities at church and some family problems. Almost every night he says he is at church. When I started complaining, he says these are things he has to do and he knows I can wait. I am really interested in this young man and the relationship, but I don't know if he is. Do you think he is interested in me? When he has free nights, he would post on Facebook "free nights who call?" It is like he has no respect for me because he calls other women "beautiful." Sometimes I think about letting go, but I just don't want to do so. It is like he doesn't care about anything. Is it because we have never met or is it because he really doesn't care? I am currently seeking a job, mainly in my parish or Kingston. Please give me any available offers. I am inexperience and I just need to make a start. Annoyed and Fed Up Dear Annoyed, You are behaving as if this guy and you know each other well and have been in a long- time relationship. But what is really going on here between both of you is childish puppy love. Both of you have been communicating (I assume) by phone and over the Internet, but have never met. You are behaving as if this man should spend more time with you. He has nothing else to do but to be at your beck and call. You have to learn to grow up. Keep this young man as a friend until you know more about him. Don't harass him. If you do, he will believe that you are not very intelligent. And remember that if he calls another woman "beautiful," that does not mean that he is flirting or is having an intimate relationship with her. Pastor |
