Dispute between two leaves gunman on the run

A dispute between two men, one armed with a gun and the other with a machete, turned ugly for the gunman as he came out on the wrong side of the clash yesterday.

Police are now searching for him after reportedly finding the gun, loaded with ammunition, which he left behind after being chopped and fleeing the scene.

The Kingston Central police said about 9 a.m., a dispute developed between the men, during which one of them allegedly pulled a firearm and fired at the other. The man who was shot at was not hurt, but he reportedly

retaliated

by using a machete to chop the man who fired at him.

A police patrol team was passing through the community when residents called them to intervene in the matter. A subsequent search of the area led to the seizure of a Tangfolio 9mm pistol and six 9mm rounds.

The injured man, who had allegedly drawn the firearm, fled the scene. The other man is to be questioned by the police.

The Kingston Central police are investigating.
