A man who took two children on a fishing expedition yesterday drowned when the boat started leaking and sank, the police have reported. The two children, however, were not harmed as they reportedly swam ashore, the police said. The high drama is reported to have occurred in Green Island, Hanover. Police identified the dead man as 33-year-old Errol Taylor, a construction worker of Mount Zion in Red Hills, St Andrew. Reports from the Green Island police, who are conducting the investigations into the incident, are that about 10 a.m., Taylor and the two children, ages nine and 15, had gone fishing on a small boat, which reportedly sprang a leak. The police said the two children were able to swim to shore, but Taylor reportedly drowned before help could reach him. |
