The police are investigating reports that a 12-year-old boy was recently badly beaten by his father with a piece of board for not spreading his bed. THE STAR understands that the boy suffered a broken ankle as a result of the incident. Reports from the Kingston Eastern police are that on November 14, about 1 a.m., the youngster was seen wandering on Mountain View Avenue in Kingston. It is reported that the young boy was seen by a group of men hopping on one leg with several bruises over his body. Allegations are that the boy's father had given him strict instructions to sweep the yard, house and spread the bed. However, it is reported that the boy followed the instructions except the one about spreading the bed. It is reported that after he was badly beaten with a piece of board, the boy escaped from his father's house and went in search of his mother. The boy reportedly told the group of men who had given him some assistance that he was going to his mother's house, which was one and a half mile away from Mountain View Avenue. The police said he was taken to the station by some strangers and was subsequently taken to the hospital by the cops, where he was treated. |
