Garland Rowe - New name, new focus |
|||||
G-Whizz - Contributed After undergoing a name change, Garland Rowe, better known as G-Whizz, says he is now focused on releasing reggae one-drop singles. The artiste recently released two new tracks titled Child and Mourning, which focus on bringing awareness to the plight of abused women and children. Garland Rowe's manager, John 'GQ' Barrett, explained to THE STAR that the tracks were produced by British producer/radio disc jock Asha D. "Well, Asha D is a radio deejay who always give me a strength over on that side of the world by playing my music, so when he told management that he had a project he wanted me to voice on, I had to get on board. When he sent the rhythm and I listened to it, it was a really emotional track that I could express my vocals on, so that made it even better," Garland Rowe said. The song Child was written by Bigga Management and Formila One, who is also a Fams House recording artiste. Mourning was written by Garland Rowe. "Well, so far the response has been great, especially overseas, and also the local media, all positive vibration," G-Whizz continued. Meanwhile, his new single It Hurts Being in Love has been getting positive reviews in Toronto and has been steadily climbing the RadioDubPlate chart. Fans of Garland Rowe can see him live in performance on November 30 at the One Mic event in New Kingston, as well as a host of other shows for the upcoming Christmas season. |
