Taxi operator robbed, shot |

SHELDON WILLIAMS, Staff Reporter A taxi operator was shot and injured on Wednesday on Trafalgar Road, New Kingston, by a gunman who boarded his taxi and pretended to be a passenger. Reports from the police are that a male passenger boarded the taxi in Half-Way Tree and said he was heading to New Kingston. Upon reaching Trafalgar Road, the man brandished a gun and attempted to rob the driver. The driver was shot and the gunman exited the vehicle and ran towards a second vehicle which, the police theorise, was waiting for him. The driver was taken to the hospital for treatment. |
