Star Tell Me Pastor

Twelve years without a woman

Dear Pastor,

One perfect love, my brother. You are doing a good job. keep it up! I always read your letters, but I don't agree with all your answers. I never thought in my wildest dream that I would ever write to you. I am responding to a letter in your column - "40 and Lonely."

I am 45 years old and I am also lonely. I have been without a woman for the past 12 years. I have seen a lot of letters in your column where people write about being lonely, but I was never interested because I am a Rasta man and I don't have a lot of money, neither will I bow to the system.

These Jamaican women living in America, all they want is oral sex and money, and I don't have any of that to offer.

When I was living in Jamaica, I was working as an accountant at a casino club in New Kingston and was fired when I started to grow my hair. I came to America and got a job. Now, I have a home and a car. I am saving to buy a house in Jamaica so I can return home, and I need a wife.

"Forty and lonely" said that she didn't want a womaniser, drinker, pretender, or smoker. However, if she wants a real Rasta man, then she must know that we use herbs (ganja) as a sacrament. It has been said that if we two don't agree, we can't walk.

I don't use religion as a barrier to pursue happiness in life. No one can stop a Rasta man, Christian, Muslim, or Buddhist from entering into the kingdom of the most high. The 144,000 are those who know God and serve Him. The mixed multitude are those who have been deceived, but are serving God sincerely. I don't want to take up any more of your time, but if this woman is interested in me, please contact me. If she is not interested, please publish my letter so that whosoever will might come.

Thank you for your time. One God, one perfect love, one aim, and one destiny.

W.

Dear W.,

What did you say? Is it really true that for 12 years you have been without a woman? Do you mean to say that you have not touched a woman, or you have not had a serious relationship, or have not been living with one? You claim that all Rasta men use marijuana. That is not true. I know Rasta men who do not smoke or use marijuana as a sacrament.

It seems to me that some of your doctrines run contrary to other Rastafarians. I also know that your theology is not sound.

On the other hand, I am glad that you have done well in North America. I hope that you will find the type of wife that you are seeking. Please be prepared to change your attitude towards women. Whether women live in North America or they are from Jamaica, they love money. So if you are mean and don't want to give women money, don't even think about establishing an intimate relationship with one.
