An 18-year-old Jamaican woman has been detained by the Antiguan narcotics police for apparently importing marijuana, which she excreted while being interrogated.

The teenager has since been identified as Santina Andrea Williams.

Information gathered from www.anti-guaobserver.com is that Williams will face the Antigua Magistrate Court on charges of possession, intent to transfer and importation of 168 grams of the class B substance.

It is understood that the young woman was initially denied entry after she arrived at the V.C. Bird International Airport on Friday, November 2, aboard Caribbean Airlines Flight 415 from Kingston.

It is further understood that while at an immigration detention centre in St John's, that Williams began acting suspiciously and this caused the officials to interrogate her.

Williams reportedly admitted to swallowing the controlled drugs, and the matter was handed over to the Narcotics Department, however, not before the teen excreted several cannabis pellets at the facility.

It is reported that the authorities were able to recover a number of the cannabis packed pellets as Williams' attempt to flush them failed.

She was subsequently taken to Mount St John's Medical Centre where she passed out several more pellets.
