Negril sound system celebrates 10th anniversary |

Lazeme sound system has been entertaining party fans and music lovers all over Jamaica since 2002. The popular Negril-based sound system has grown from being just a sound system, as the name Lazeme now embodies, and represents a whole movement in entertainment as the key players behind Lazeme are involved in almost every aspect of entertainment in Negril. Popular selectors The sound system's popular front man DJ Jah Wayne, who operates the Lazeme studio, is an engineer and music producer, and is one of the most popular selectors in western Jamaica. He has produced a number of popular singles for artistes, including Charly Black, Bush man, Anthony B, Chezidek, Little Hero, Singer J and is also a budding recording artiste. Now in its 10th year of existence, Lazeme is getting ready to host its annual anniversary celebrations, which will be held on Friday the 14th of December at the Negril Beach Park. This event will feature the whole Lazeme family, Jah Wayne, DJ Monster Baa, Neno Brown and Worm, alongside 2005 Heineken Green Synergy winner DJ Slim and DJ Boom Black. Fast-rising dancehall/reggae singer Timmi Burrell will be the special guest performer at this event. Very significant According to Dwayne Jarrett, who is the manager and booking agent for the sound system, this year's staging of the Lazeme anniversary celebrations will be a very significant one and everyone involved with the sound is working towards making the event a very memorable one. "We have been having these celebrations over the years, and they have always been very good, as we always put on a good show for the patrons. But this year is going to be extra special, it's our 10th anniversary and we are going the extra mile to make it totally unforgettable," said Jarrett, who is also a certified land surveyor.
