JNBS introduces personalised debit cards |
|||||
![]() Dorene Johnson (left), assistant branch manager at Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) Half-Way Tree Branch, tells Nadine Brown (centre), JNBS member, about the personalised debit card. Meanwhile, Fiona Forrest, member service representative at the JNBS Half-Way Tree Branch, looks on. Jamaica National Building Society (JNBS) has been rolling out its JNBS Personalised Debit Cards to members across the island, since mid-September. Phillip Bernard, executive, community banking and administration, said members can select from a list of nature-based photos and entertainment stock images as well as Jamaican cultural symbols such as the humming bird. The personalisation will be applied to JN Teller 24/7 debit cards. "JN Members will be able to personalise their cards by selecting from images provided by the Society to place on their JN 24/7 cards," Bernard said, "And this will replace the traditional bank card graphic designs." He explained that members may now apply for this JNBS Personalised Debit Card by visiting any JN branch or Money Shop. The cards were first piloted in September at JNBS branches in Half-Way Tree; New Kingston; Santa Cruz; Morant Bay and Duke Street, as well as at the Tivoli and Knutsford Money Shops. The response from these locations has been positive, Bernard said. He revealed that, "Members love it and they are quite affordable." Before the end of the year, members will also be able to select images from their own photo collection to place on their cards, he said. "We are working to have that option in place as soon as possible." As the largest and one of the oldest building societies in the Caribbean, Bernard stated that JNBS is aiming to improve its member-service experience and the new personalised debit cards is another element in that thrust.
