D-Major's new album almost complete |
|||||
![]() Leighton Levy, STAR Writer The long-awaited album by reggae crooner D-Major is soon to be a reality. The singer has been working on an album for some time but the process has been slow and steady. "It's almost done," he said. "The material is all done, they're just to be mixed now." In the meantime, D-Major says the singles he has out is teasing his fans who are eagerly anticipating the album's arrival. He, too, is eagerly anticipating the completion of the album but he manages to pass the time releasing new recordings such as Girl Of My Dreams and working on other songs that he expects to be released soon. The braided entertainer also spent the last year learning more about his craft as a judge on the local talent show Digicel Stars. D-Major, who has spent the better part of the last decade honing his craft, explained that being a judge on the show was beneficial in many ways. It gave him a significant amount of exposure and in judging the aspiring stars, he was able to recognise some of the mistakes that he has made. "It was a refreshing experience. It was a challenge mentoring," he said. "Just watching the contestants, I learnt a lot that has helped me to grow as a performer." A hectic schedule He enjoyed the experience so much he said he would love to do it again, but with a hectic schedule set for 2013, as of now it's a bit touch-and-go. "I would love to be back and if my schedule allows it, I would definitely love to be," he said. That schedule to which he refers, will most likely include tours to areas of the planet where his music has already been making an impact. "We have plans to visit a number of places to promote more," he said. "We will see where the singles are gaining traction and plan accordingly." According to that plan, Japan, Africa and Europe seem to be on the agenda for 2013. "We also plan to travel to the USA and into the Caribbean. Territories that embrace my music," he said.
