Oneity won 3-1 and advanced to the final. - Anthony Minott Oneity defeated Wigton 3-1 to advance to yet another final in the Fenley Douglas-sponsored Waterford Corner League at the Waterford field on Sunday. Oniety came into the game with a 1-0 lead courtesy of Xavier Harvey, as only 10 minutes were possible last week during the match, the second of the double-header at the same venue as rain washed out the fixture. The next 80 minutes was played on Sunday, and goals by Xavier Harvey and Omar Washington aided Oneity's victory bid, while Jahvon Roberts netted for Wigton. Oneity's opponent's in next Sunday's final is Duncans, a side that booted Cool Runnings 1-0 in the first semi-final two Sunday's ago. The sponsor, Councillor Fenley Douglas of the Waterford Division, was present to greet the players, and remarked: "We really have some talented players in this league, I'm proud to be a part of it." |
