Court hearing set for case involving Wayne Whyte

The case involving broadcaster Wayne Whyte was set for a plea and case management hearing next month, when the matter was called in the Gun Court yesterday.

Whyte and his co-accused, Safari Farr, is to return to court on November 1.

Both accused were arrested and charged for the shooting incident involving broadcaster Jody-Ann Gray from Kool 97 FM in early April.

An outstanding statement from the police has been handed in and the court was told that the medical certificate in relation to the victim will be submitted in short order.

The men are charged with wounding with intent and illegal possession of a firearm.

Both men were among three persons detained shortly after Gray was shot twice at her gate in Cedar Grove, Portmore, St Catherine.

Gray, who at the time was pregnant, was attacked and shot once in the face and twice in the shoulder just as she drove up to her gate.

She was rushed to hospital where she underwent emergency surgery to remove a bullet.
