Rasbert Turner, Star Writer Up to press time last night, a search was still being carried out to retrieve the bodies of three persons who are suspected to have drowned after the truck they were travelling in plunged into the Rio Cobre. The Bog Walk police in St Catherine have confirmed that there were four persons in the truck but one jumped to safety while the others were trapped in the cabin as the vehicle plunged into the river. Reports are that about 9 p.m., the truck was travelling towards Spanish Town along the Bog Walk gorge. Upon reaching the Flat Bridge, the driver lost control of the vehicle and it ended up in the river. Scores of curious onlookers gathered on the scene while police worked hard at controlling traffic which slowed to a crawl. |
