The exciting search for the island's top pan chicken chef continues tomorrow at Leiba's Esso in May Pen at the Central Regional Eliminations, where 21 creative cooks will battle for the six remaining spots available for the finals.

Representing Clarendon, Man-chester and St Elizabeth, the chefs are sure to prepare some of the most succulent and flavourful meats enjoyed during the course of the competition. Following careful judging by the Jamaica Cultural Development Commission's (JCDC) culinary department, two finalists will be selected from each parish, with first and second-place winners walking away with $30,000 and $15,000 in cash prizes, respectively.

"We enjoyed wonderful support at both the Eastern and Western Regional Eliminations," shared Kimberley Mullings, brand manager, CB Chicken. "We are eager to be hosting yet another event in May Pen, and encourage residents from surrounding areas to come out in their numbers as we have a day jam-packed with lively activities in store for you," she continued.

In addition to a thrilling cooking contest, patrons will be entertained by hosts Christopher 'Johnny' Daley and Jerry D, and will also be treated to riveting performances by May Pen's very own Classic Dancers, as well as the Unstoppable Dance Group and the Untouchable Dance Group, the respective second and third-place winners of the 2012 JCDC World Reggae Dance competition. Children will have access to a fun-filled Kiddies Village complete with a bounceabout, rock climber, trampoline, face-painting and a magician.

Selected chefs from all three regional eliminations will go on to compete in the finals, which is slated to take place on the waterfront in downtown Kingston on November 18. In addition to bragging rights, the Grand Champion will receive prizes valued at $525,000, including $275,000 from Caribbean Broilers (CB), business seed money of $250,000 courtesy of First Heritage Co-operative Credit Union (FHCCU) and a trophy.
