'Pree Dis' reaches 100th episode

The weekly entertainment and lifestyle television show Pree Dis recently aired its 100th episode. The show first aired on October 1, 2010. According to the show's producer Kevin Jackson, Pree Dis has grown.

'We are pleased with the achievements that the show has made in such a short period of time. Now that we have Caribbean viewership that has helped to strengthen the brand outside Jamaica," Jackson said in a release to the media.

To date, the show has had three presenters, namely Joel 'Kruddy' Harrison, Alex 'Alca' Morrison and Casmar James. Harrison and James are former VJs with RE-TV.

Pree Dis keeps viewers in tune to the latest happenings on the Jamaican and Caribbean entertainment scene. Among its more popular features are 'Pree Di Mix', which showcases up-and-coming, as well as established, disc jocks and selectors; 'Caribbean Buzz', which highlights the latest entertainment stories from the Caribbean; 'Music Video Premiere; the Top Ten Countdown; 'Talent on the Rise', which profiles a rising entertainer; and 'Pree Dis Sports', where some of the less-popular sporting activities are highlighted.

Said Jackson, "Our Petcom Fuel-Saving Tip of the Week feature", as well as our healthy living feature, have both been getting a lot of feedback especially on our Twitter and Facebook pages. We also have our weekly Rough Rider safe sex tips which the entertainers have endorsed. We continue to add new features just to keep the show fresh and entertaining."

Pree Dis also airs locally on Entertainment Plus Cable, which has a large percentage of the cable population in western Jamaica. Karib Cable in Antigua and Barbuda and KREM TV in Belize and TEMPO Networks also air episodes.

"The platform provided to us by FLOW has worked very well for the show locally. We are eternally grateful to Michael Looktong and Patrick Mitchell at FLOW for giving us the outlet when we needed one. Thanks to TEMPO, we are now seen in over 30 countries across the Caribbean, and even in the New York tri-state area in the United States. So it's a good look for the show," said Jackson.

Episodes of Pree Dis are shot at various locations across Jamaica. Some episodes have been shot at Hedonism 2 in Negril, the Kool Runnings Water Park, Dolphin Cove, Dunn's River Falls and Mystic Mountain in St Ann, Sunset Jamaica Grand Hotel, and Grand Palladium Beach Resort & Spa in Hanover.
