Wigton shock Parkway 1-0

Wigton FC created a big upset in Zone B when they shocked defending champs Parkway 1-0 in the latest round of the Fenley Douglas-sponsored Waterford Community Football League at the Waterford field last Sunday.

Adrian Evans was on target again for Wigton. Evans also scored last Sunday as Wigton drew 1-1 with newcomer Mashway. With the win, Wigton moved to second place with four points, from two games, while, Parkway, which lost their second game, of the season, dropped to third on three points. Zone B is led by Cool Runnings with maximum six points from two games. Former champs and Zone A leaders, Oneity blanked Duncans 2-0 as veteran player, Dale Dixon and Odain Senior sketched their names on the scoresheet for the victors. Oneity lead the Zone with six points from two matches. They are followed by Duncans (three), while Little America and Harmons are yet to register a point. The competition continues tomorrow with two games.
