Petty thieves target Old Harbour Road

The St Catherine North police said that petty thieves are plaguing Old Harbour Road in Spanish Town.

Reports are that since the start of September, a total of five churches have been broken into.

"The criminal dem not playing around; them tief everything in sight, even chickens," a woman said.

The Star was informed that as recent as Monday, thieves broke into a coop and stole 50 chickens.

"The old lady raised her chickens and di bwoy tief it and not even the feather dem no lef. It really wicked and dem need fi stop it," a man said.

Meanwhile, The Star was told the road is being taken over by groups of criminals using the cover of darkness to carry out their acts.

Police personnel at the Spanish Town Police Station said that the matters are being investigated.
