The Bog Walk police in St Catherine have started an investigation into the death of a St Catherine woman as a result of a vehicular accident late last week.

Dead is Andrea Holman, 30-year-old labourer of Magazine Lane, Bog Walk, St Catherine.

Police reports are that about 2:30 p.m. on Friday, a Toyota Coaster that plies the Linstead to Spanish Town route was travelling along the road.

Upon reaching Kent Village, it overtook a disabled motor vehicle.

The coaster collided with a Mitsubishi truck.

The woman who was seated behind the driver sustained serious injuries and died on the spot.

Other passengers were taken to the Linstead Hospital for treatment.

The thoroughfare was blocked for hours as a result, forcing motorists to use Sligoville and Barry as alternative routes.
