Three teams remain perfect in the Red Stripe Premier League with the surprise among them being newly promoted Savannah, which along with Sporting Central Academy and Arnett Gardens yesterday made it two wins in as many matches.

Savannah, which hails from Truro district in Westmoreland and was formed in 2007, took the scalp of Harbour View, clipping them 1-0 at the Frome Sports Complex. The club in this its first season in the country's top flight had last weekend defeated Portmore United by an identical scoreline.

This week's all-important goal was scored in the 90th minute by Shane Anderson.

Arnett Gardens' win was secured courtesy of a 59th-minute strike by the exciting Lamar Nelson, who found the net for the second week running.

Humble Lion remain pointless, as they were suffering their second defeat.

Sporting Central Academy maintained their two goals a game average, as they inflicted a 2-0 defeat on Highgate United with Levaughn Williams (60th) also finding the back of the net for the second successive game. Sporting's other goal was scored by Francios Swaby (90th). Highgate ended the game with 10 players, as Maurice Evans was ejected on the stroke of half-time, after tossing a bottle back in the crowd, which was thrown at him.

unfortunate altercation

Another game that featured an unfortunate altercation between a player and a fan was the encounter involving defending champions Portmore United and the other promoted team Cavalier. Cavalier's 2-1 victory, which was their first win in the national league following a 16-year absence, was overshadowed by the action of Portmore United's captain Adrian Reid.

Reid was ejected in the 90th minute for violent conduct after elbowing Cavalier's Nigel Reid. He was the subject of jeers from the crowd on his way to the changing room and in reaction to a female, Suzette Martin; he picked up a stone and threw it hitting her in the chest. Martin was later called into a meeting where Reid denied the incident, but apologised and the matter was squashed.

Odoah Nickles gave Portmore the lead in the 55th minute, but Cavalier rallied through goals from Girvan Brown (74th) and a beauty from Claudious Blackburn (79th) to condemn Portmore to their second straight defeat.

Tivoli Gardens also got off the mark, as they emerged from Catherine Hall with all three points after edging Montego Bay United 1-0 on the back of a 45th-minute Akeem Themstead goal. This marks the highly fancied Montego Bay's second straight loss.

Last season's leading goalscorer Jermaine 'Tuffy' Anderson scored twice (44th and 54th) to lead Waterhouse to a 3-1 win over Boys' Town. Demarley Samuels (90th) netted Waterhouse's other goal, while Romeo Parkes scored on his debut for The 'Red Brigade'.
