THE STAR was on hand to witness one such show of kindness when Pastor Gloria Dickerson of the charity group and Pastor Jennifer Kenton presented a mother with a schoolbag for her son. Dickerson, who is originally from the community but now resides abroad told, THE STAR that she will continue to assist residents from the area in whatever way she can, whenever she can. When quizzed on how committed she is to offer assistance to the community, she reasoned that "As often as I can ... as long as I can find things to come with." Louise Miller who collected the bag on behalf of her 14-year-old son who attends Yallahs High School, lauded Dickerson for the assistance rendered. "I thank you, I thank you," Miller expressed. Dickerson had arrived from Florida with hundreds of bags for distribution to needy students. At the same time, THE STAR understands that the charitable organisation also supplied the St Thomas Infirmary with a washing machine, wheelchairs and medical supplies among other things. The charity group has been providing assistance in the community since 2006. |
