Bail application for businesswoman rejected

The bail application for a businesswoman accused of absconding bail and failing to carry out a court order, was rejected in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.

Accused of failing to carry out a court order since 2008 and as a result absconding bail, is 46-year-old Judith Mullings of a Smokey Vale, St Andrew address.

The court was told that since 2008, Mullings was ordered to pay over some money to a former client she did business with. she, however, ran off on her bail and did not honour the court.

In rejecting her bail application, Resident Magistrate Georgianna Frazer told the attorney representing Mullings that, "I have no confidence that if granted bail she will conform to the requirements, as she was given bail before and she ran off".

The court was also told that since 2008, Mullings has changed several different attorneys and further allegations are that she has repeatedly issued bounced cheques to people.

Mullings was remanded until September 12.
