Players from the Bridgeport community team, which make up the nucleus of the Colours International cricket club, will feature in a Jamaica 50 Portmore Cricket Festival over two days at the Bridgeport sports ground, starting today.

Bridgeport, qualified as a wild card entrant in the second phase of the Social Development Commission (SDC)'s All-Island Community twenty/20 competition, and placed second, as they were beaten by champs Old Harbour in the final. The players will be eager to make that setback be a motivating factor today.

Colours face arch-rivals Portmore Pines at 1:30 p.m. in the feature twenty/20 match at the venue, while at 9:30 a.m. Ken's Wildflower square off against Washington CC.

The second day will see both winners square off in a final at 1:30 p.m., while before that at 9:30 a.m., the losers will challenge for third place.

The event is organised by the Portmore Cricket Association, in partnership with the Portmore Municipal Council. The winning team will collect the mayor's trophy.
