Eagles face Rowe's Strikers in final |

Orville Clarke, Portmore Star Writer The curtain will come down on the Wray & Nephew-sponsored White Overproof Rum competition tomorrow with defending champions Eagles up against Rowe's Strikers in the Premier League final and Mystix vs Mr C 'B' in the Major League final at Bourbon House, 133 Windward Road. The action starts at 1 p.m. with the third-place play-off between losing Premier League semi-finalists Eastern All-Stars and Waltham Strikers and the Major League play-off between The Dip and Olympic Strikers. This will be followed by the Major League final between Mystix and Mister C 'B' at 4:00.m., after which the big guns (Eagles, Rowe's Strikers) will meet in the Premier League final at 7:00 p.m. On Sunday at Mystix Sports Bar, Hagley Park Road, Eagles crushed Waltham Strikers 6-1 in one semi-final, while Rowe's advanced with a 6-4 win over Eastern All-Stars. In Major League semis, Mystix defeated The Dip 6-2 and Mister C 'B' beat Olympic 6-3. The Premier League champions will receive $80,000 and the Wray & Nephew White Overproof Trophy, while $50,000 will go to the new champions in the Major League. |
