Christopher Thomas, STAR Writer WESTERN BUREAU: The case involving a St James man who allegedly tore pieces of ply-board from his mother's house, was put off until September 28, after the complainant failed to appear in court on Thursday. Everold Pusey, of Hurlock district in rural St James, was before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on a charge of malicious destruction of property. Pusey's mother, Monice Reece, is the complainant in the case. When the matter was called up, it was momentarily 'stood down' while efforts were made to contact the absent complainant. However, it was eventually revealed that Reece was in Kingston and had previously sent word that she would be unable to attend court as a result of this. Resident Magistrate Sandria Wong-Small subsequently set the case for mention on September 28, and ordered the investigating officer to ensure that Reece is brought to court at that time. Allegations are that on August 8, Pusey and Reece were at home when the defendant began behaving boisterously. An argument developed between them and an angry Pusey reportedly used a crowbar to remove two pieces of plyboard from the house.
