Former Rising Star contestant bail extended

Former Digicel Rising Star contestant Beresford Brown and his sister Ezinga Brown had their bails extended when they appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on malicious destruction of property charges yesterday.

When the matter was mentioned before Resident Magistrate Simone Wolfe-Reece, both accused persons pleaded not guilty.

Having heard that a piece of bathroom fixture stolen from the house was found in Ezinga's possession, investigating officer Constable David Williams was instructed to lay an additional charge against her.

The matter was then put off until September 25, when it will again be mentioned.

Allegations are that the complainant, who is a cousin of the accused, took them to court to have them evicted from a premises. The court ordered that they vacate the house. However, upon leaving the house both accused thrashed the house.

It was revealed that during this time, fixtures were damaged.

A subsequent report to the Central Village police resulted in criminal charges being made against the siblings.
