WESTERN BUREAU:

A Somerton, St James, man who allegedly chopped two members of a family with a machete on separate occasions is to return to the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on November 7.

Darron Brown, of Guilsbro district in Somerton, is charged with two counts of unlawful wounding. He pleaded not guilty on both counts when he appeared in court yesterday.

on the arm

Allegations are that on an unspecified date in December 2011, Brown used a machete to chop Shelly-Ann Montague on her arm, and on May 27, 2012 he chopped her relative Chevaughn Montague on the hip.

"Sir, you're going on really bad," remarked Resident Magistrate Sandria Wong-Small, when Brown's matter was called up.

total lie

"That's a total lie. It's a whole family that is trying to frame me; is them trying to stab me," countered Brown.

Meanwhile, the prosecution told the court that several statements and at least one medical certificate are still outstanding from the case file. Wong-Small consequently set the case for mention on November 7.

"Make sure, you see Sir, that nothing else happens between now and November 7," the resident magistrate warned Brown as he left the courtroom.
