Cops probing ganja find

The police say they are continuing their probe into the seizure of more than 1,400 pounds (636 kilograms) of ganja in Kingston.

The police say the weed, with a street value of $1.4 million, was found in a Toyota Hiace van on Marcus Garvey Drive, Kingston 11, on Sunday.

It is reported that about 1:30 p.m., a team of officers was on an operation in the area when they intercepted a Toyota Hiace van.

The police say two men ran from the vehicle and escaped into a nearby community.

The vehicle was subsequently searched and 43 carton boxes containing parcels of compressed ganja was reportedly found.
