SOUP USED TO BURN SISTER'S FACE

A 20-year-old woman on Tuesday pleaded guilty in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court to dousing her sister with a cup of soup during a dispute at their Kingston 13 home.

Charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm is Patricia Williamson, who was granted $50,000 bail.

She is to return to court on September 25 for sentencing, and Resident Magistrate Georgiana Fraser has ordered a social enquiry report.

Allegations are that on August 3, Williamson and her 16-year-old sister were in a dispute when the accused heated a cup of soup in a microwave before pouring it in her sister's face.

Williamson's father who was in court asked RM Fraser to have the matter dismissed because he said his daughter's action was "deliberate ignorance," he said.

"Your Honour, I am begging that you have this matter dismissed because it was deliberate yes but it was out of ignorance. It is very stressful to have one of my daughters injured and the other one in custody,"' Williamson's father told the court.

However, RM Fraser said that the accused is an adult and is responsible for her actions.
