LIME customers 'Take it to the Track' with Powell, Blake

LIME Twitter followers and Facebook fans will get a chance to experience LIME's 'Take it to the Track' online event featuring 2012 Olympians and LIME brand ambassadors Yohan Blake and Asafa Powell this Thursday.

'Take it to the Track Thursday' will be a two-part activity on LIME's social-media websites where Blake and Powell will use the opportunity to show their appreciation for all the support shown for them online over the past couple of months.

Tara Playfair-Scott, LIME's head of entertainment and TV, is elated about the activities surrounding the athletes. "Although the Olympics are over, we want our customers to be among the first to interact with our brand ambassadors, and so this premium experience provides the perfect opportunity for them to express congratulations and revel in their success," she said.

Powell will join live via Ustream at 3:15 p.m., directly from the LIME headquarters, where fans will be asked to submit questions for the star athlete using Twitter and Facebook handles, and have a chance to win autographed items from his personal collection of meet memorabilia.

Blake, who will be participating in the Laussane Diamond League 100m race on the same day, has prepared special messages for the LIME fans.

Additionally, the telecoms company will also give supporters a chance to win prizes including LIME top-up credit, autographed souvenirs and more, through a 'guessing game' where fans will try to predict Blake's performance time at the meet.

LIME customers who purchase the special Jamaica 50 commemorative $200 top up card featuring the athlete between Monday, August 20 and 2 p.m. on Thursday, August 23, will receive double bonus credit if Blake wins.

Both Powell and Blake have been signed to LIME since 2005 and early 2012, respectively.
