NWA advises of road closure

The National Works Agency (NWA) is advising the public that effective yesterday, the Fontabelle main road in St Mary, leading from the old petrol station, will be closed for three weeks.

According to the NWA, this temporary closure is to facilitate the replacement of a defective bridge in the community.

The NWA said that the old structure is being replaced with a single lane compact 200 bridge, 50 feet in length.

An alternative route during the period of closure for motorists travelling from the direction of Oracabessa towards Crescent, is left at the old petrol station in Fontabelle, then first right on to the Free Hill road, then right to Geddes Town, then on to Crescent.

The NWA is advising motorists and pedestrians to obey all posted warning signs and the instructions of flag persons while work is in progress.
