Chase Cross records with British rapper Chipmunk

Dancehall artiste Chase Cross is celebrating international highlight after his single 25 was remixed by Mavado and international British rapper Chipmunk.

Chase Cross revealed that he had recorded the song prior to the collaboration. However, his mentor Mavado admired the concept and saw the need for a remix.

"I recorded the song already and singer (Mavado) heard it and sey him a guh remix it, so he was in the studio and he asked me to send him the file. Chipmunk was also in the studio, said he wanted to do a verse also and that is how he got on the song," Chase Cross said.

It's a good feeling

According to the artiste, who has been the face of Mavado's Gully Squad since the departure of a few members, he is grateful for his new career development.

"It is a great feeling to be on a track with such a calibre hip-hop artiste, he is a big star in the UK so it's a good feeling," he said.

The artiste believes the song pulled the interest of Mavado and Chipmunk due to its realistic storyline.

"This song is about a life experience and you know where am from nuff youth nuh pass 25. So for a ghetto youth to pass 25 it is a good thing, so younger and older people can relate to it," Chase Cross said.

25 was produced by Daseca production and according to the artiste, the song is already getting major attention in the United Kingdom, United States and the Caribbean.

"Right now mi just a duh promotions for the song, hopefully in the near future a video will be done.
