Blind man on fraud rap remanded
A blind man, charged with conspiracy to defraud in connection with the problematic lottery scam, was remanded yesterday after he appeared in court.

Twenty-eight-year-old Claude Pryce of a St Andrew address was ordered held in state confinement until September 11 when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court. In addition, he was ordered by RM Grace Henry-McKenzie to give his fingerprints to the police.

It is reported that the police picked up Pryce during an operation on August 8 along the Constant Spring Post Office by the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement team. The accused was arrested after he allegedly collected money and cheques from the Constant Spring Post Office and FedEx, amounting to approximately $1.5 million.

Pryce is to receive other charges in relation to the matter, pending further police investigations.
