Dead is 32-year-old Shernette Parker of Knoxwood, in the parish.

It's reported that about 1:15 p.m, Parker and the man had a dispute when the man brandished a knife.

Further reports are that the man used the weapon to stab Parker in the neck and inflict several wounds over her body.

She has been admitted to hospital.

The man reportedly fled the scene.
