Gerry Bush was a prayer warrior who forgot how to pray when she came face to face with death 10 years ago. Bush, 76, a retired medical assistant, told THE STAR in a recent interview that she met in an almost fatal accident while living in the United States. She believes her life was saved because of her guardian angel who, she claims, appeared during her time of need. "It's good to keep praying. I couldn't pray at the time, because I was prayed up just like when you have leftover food in your refrigerator," she said. Surprisingly, she received 38 stitches across the forehead and suffered two broken ribs, a punctured lung, as well as a bruised kidney. The incident, she explained, happened one early morning while she was on her way to work. Back then, she worked at a nursing home in New Jersey where she lived. She remembers the morning of the accident being overcast. headlights An 18-year-old girl, she said, had just got her licence and was travelling in a vehicle with no headlights when she slammed into the side of her vehicle. "I don't know where she came from, but she ran the light and hit me," she said. Bush continued, "I flew up in the air and my forehead burst the windscreen. When I came back down, I felt as if I was sitting in a man's lap." male voice She recalled that, when she looked to the left to see what was happening, she saw a greyish beige garment going behind her. When she looked to the right she claimed that all she could see was darkness. As the blood gushed from her face she said she heard a very stern male voice utter, "Why are you trying so hard to see me, keep your eyes on Jesus, call on Jesus, He can help you." The 76-year-old said she remembered calling out the name 'Jesus' over and over until she heard a knock on her window and a policeman telling her that help was on the way. "I spent five days in the hospital. It was after I recovered and got the bill I knew I was flown to the hospital in Camden (New Jersey), I didn't even know I went into an aircraft," she said. Since then Bush has been convinced that the man whose lap she sat in was the angel who saved her life. "If I had come down with that force and my guardian angel wasn't there I would have broken my neck or my back. My guardian angel was there to soften the blow," she explained. In the meantime, the elderly woman says she wants people to know that God is real and that he takes care of his own. She believes that if its not your time to go, the Lord will not take you. Near-death experiences, she says, are only God's way of teaching us. |
