Residents say ... COP MARKS MEN FOR DEATH

Following the fatal shootings of two men, residents from Fitzgerald Avenue in Kingston 13 are claiming that a police officer has been working from a 'death list' to rid the community of several male figures.

The residents say they have made reports to various authoritative figures about the actions of a ranked officer who they say was involved in the shooting deaths.

Information reaching our news team is that the community members claim that the police, including the officer, were behind the shooting deaths of Damion 'Bulb Eye' Saunders in July and Romaine 'Shane' Ferron on August 4, respectively.

Both men were reportedly killed at their residence located in the community.

nine names

A resident expressed to THE STAR, "Di man jus tek a set pan wi likkle community ... Weh di investigator dem name again? ... INDECOM, dem suppose to a investigate him ..." .

The resident continued, "Him same one a tell di people dem say a nine name pan him list."

"I personally don't object to him doing his work as a lawman but him a nuh God so him can't just go and a tek life ...," reasoned another resident.

However, when contacted yesterday, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) for the St Andrew South Division, Delroy Hewitt, yesterday dismissed the allegations that the officer was working from a 'death list'.

He said that the claims being made against the officer were not true and suggested that the citizens bring forward any such death list as evidence.

Hewitt said, "He is a hardworking officer, and was strategically placed in the Withfield Town Division to assist in controlling the high murder rate that plagued these communities in the past. He knows the area inside out and can patrol the communities well. We have seen an immense improvement with him being there."

SSP Hewitt continued, "We are aware of the wrongdoers and have them listed here at the station ... Sometimes we place their names up and around within the respective areas ... I know the officer and his team were involved in a recent incident where a man was killed and an illegal firearm was recovered."
